Adhesive Type

There are various strengths of adhesives used with label production depending on the type of application required.

A removable adhesive is used on labels that may need to be easily peeled off as with crystal, crockery and fruit labelling; these may become more permanent after a long period. This type of adhesive does not leave a sticky residue or mark the surface. A stronger adhesive is applied for labels needing to remain permanently on the jar or package. An aggressively permanent adhesive may be required for labels that are subjected to heat or extreme weather conditions to prevent peeling or vandalism. Freezer type adhesive is used with labels stored on products in sub zero refrigeration. Labels are sometimes required to stretch over convex or uneven surfaces. With this a stretch feature is required when choosing a printing stock.
