Label Design

Labels can be designed by your graphic artist or one of Barney's graphics designers can produce the appropriate design for your particular requirement to suit your product. We can work to a detailed brief outlining the product type, the targeted market and the price point you would like your product to sit at.

Labels can be die-cut to almost any shape such as triangular, oval, round, square etc. A label will talk on your behalf if designed well. You will notice on the supermarket shelves that 'home brand' products are usually designed in one or two colours to give the appearance they are 'budget priced items' and will be priced in the lower bracket of products of a similar type.

If you have a range of products targeted at the higher priced or exclusive market, labels can be designed accordingly to give the appearance of high quality and exclusivity. These are usually full colour process even with embossing and to give the absolute prestige look you can incorporate various colour foiling stamping and hologram overlay. Embossing also provides a classical appearance. Labels can be printed by offset or digital methods.

Finishes are available in clear varnish which is applied to the surface to protect the labels and create a special appearance. Spot Varnish is applied to feature areas of the label as a contrast to the matt or semi-gloss or high gloss printed surface. Foil stamping in bright and shiny colours offer a brilliant option for special label effects.
